Question Creaking and Popping

Notice a creaking and popping when pulling out of my driveway or going in. This comes from the rear of the car. Suspension issue of some sort?? Just got the vehicle and am working my way through issues.
What is the most likely cause?

Regards

I was having the same problem, although I have yet to have some time to investigate here is what some other people said to check.
Let me know how you make out.

Buffalo and Tiger ('The Zoo')

As was mentioned in one of the replies to Tiger, it sounds like a stabiliser (sway) bar problem. The bar twists in its rubber mountings during suspension travel, and old/hard/dirty/tight rubbers will make it noisy, i.e. creaky. The bar will subsequently re-set, and this could be the resulting 'popping'.

To rectify, simply remove rear stabiliser bar, replace 2x rubbers, clean and grease everything and refit. Total job 1/2 hour, 2 beers and about $5.00. Please note that the bar must be without pre-load, thus you have to fit the droplinks without any pressure on either side.

Lastly check that everything is tight, i.e. shocks, engine mounts, etc..

Best Regards, Tom.

the rear swaybar brackets also crack and break off resulting in a clunk or creak off driveways, etc.
