Default Consignment Rates

Does anyone have some insight on what rates are being charged by some of the higher end dealers to sellers that consign their vehicles there?

I am looking at a vehicle that is on its way to consignment and want to insure I make an appropriate offer to buy the car myself but not leave money on the table.

I can't say more without giving everything away but I will post pics if the deal goes through.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Dealer I know charges 15 to 30 percent dependent upon the vehicle.

30%??? Wow, I would just have to keep it before paying that much. I guess that's why I have so many cars to keep up. I can't seem to part with any of them. Every time I put one up for sale, I find some reason to keep it after I start getting bites. Makes for discord with the wife, but not too bad, as long as I don't buy too many mods.

Thanks for the input. Based upon that, I may have left money on the table had I made an offer today.

I hate negotiating price on someone's baby but I hate putting more money out than I have to even more.

I've consigned cars twice and I've never even heard of anything over 10%.

Same here. And if they want to cut the selling price they will have to be willing to cut their commission dollar for dollar as well.
