Not my cup of tea, mainly because it has a tiptronic transmission. Some 964's had problems- do a search and read all about it.

I dont have to have the G50. That was only if I got the late '80s 911s. Tiptronic is fine for me. Actually, I think I'd prefer it. After 20 yrs of automatics, shifting is just another distraction for me. When I have a date, it'd be nice to hold her hand instead of shifting ;~} Plus it seems the 1991-1993 manuals had problems with the dual mass flywheel.

The problem with this car is since it's in Utah and I'm in California, I cant easily (and w/o high cost) check it out. I'd have to fly there and then there's still no guarantee I'm going to buy it. Then I'd have to see if it would pass strict CA smog emissions tests. It otherwise seems like a good price but there's other hidden costs that can add up real fast...airfare, PPI, smog test, hotel, etc.

Ah, my "Used 911 Story" just arrived. Hours of reading fun ahead...

Just saw this ad: https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale-ads-member-to-member-fs-wtb-free/459853-1987-carrera-g-50-coupe-silver.html

Seems like an amazing deal. (No. I'm not affiliated w/ the seller.)

Thanks, Henry.

For some reason I can't access the ad. Is this a paid members access-only area?

I would not worry about the dual mass flywheel, most of them had them replaced under warranty. It was more of a problem with the manual then the Tiptronic.
