Question Electrical Gremlins?

Hope this doesn't sound too weird, but...

In my 84 Carrera, I have a new phenomenon. When I click on the turn signal (both directions), my wipers go on for a few flaps. Hmmm.... Doesn't happen when I use the "lane change" mode, but when I click the arm into the on position, the wipers activate. Anyone ever seen this before? Thanks in advance for your expert opinions!

That is rather strange, being the wiper system has its own arm and switch. It could be something broken in the switch stack in the steering column, allowing the wiper wires to be energized from the wiring for the signal switch??? Just a thought. Tony.
