Just thought I should share with everyone...I 've had some really cool cars in the past, e36 m3, m5, 95 rx-7, 540i, 500sl, daily driver e350 4matic and my all time favorite 88 bmw m3, 19k original miles(sold right before market exploded)biggest mistake of my life ![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I've had my car 1 month and every time I take it out(mostly every day) I get stopped and questioned about it or get really nice compliments. Was at a light today next to a brand new 997, he rolled down his window and said "that car is sweet". Heard a young boy once say to his dad, "look dad the bat mobile".
Do you guys experience the same thing? Where im from (nyc) 911s aren't really popular(roads suck)mostly high end luxury cars. Im guessing this could be a reason or are they just that nice...or both!
Any way, I love the uniqueness of it. What other car out there can you get that much appreciation, fun, performance and design for what we paid? If you ask me there highly undervalued! This is actually the least that I've spent for any of my past cars!
We are very fortunate!!

yep i'm always getting the thumbs-up, even from the cops a couple of times, and people often ask me about it. i was out with a friend on the weekend and he commented on how many people comment on the car
most of the attention is from kids i.e "look at the porsche dad!!!"
shame more of the attention isnt from 21yr old girls

Funny you should mention - when my wife and I were driving her home, I got comments at some of the overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It made me glad for her and for me.
I haven't had a chance to drive it much until today when I picked the car up from the inspection place and took it to work for the first time. I got a ton of compliments!
On the way back, a street was barricaded by the local police (for construction) and they were turning folks around. As i fumbled for my seat belt ( I thought it was some sort of belt check-point), they gave me directions to turn around, and the cop shouts..."nice car by the way". I am so not used to that.
On the other hand, call me paranoid, but I do feel as though I get more tailgaters on the turnpike.

The 911 attracts no girls, only middle aged men in minivans.

My favorite story on this subject...
Two summers ago I'm coming home through my neighborhood, which is pretty quiet with a lot of kids playing on the sidewalk. As I pass by a bunch of probably 10-12 year olds, one says excitedly to another as I begin to pass, "Wow, that's a Porsche!" A moment passed as the second kid said something back, to which I hear the first kid say loudly, "NO, that's a REAL Porsche!"

My wife says we're constantly being checked out when we're in Ruby. I can't remember the last time I was in a gas station that I didn't get a comment.
The funniest time was when I was cruising up I-35 in Dallas, and some hardcore lowriders in a '63 Impala came up next to me and gave me a nod of approval. I was lower than they were.
Had a HOT chick in a Boxster tell me my old 928 was awesome last year...made my day.

I'm in the NYC area like you Leo. I usually get positive reactions when I'm out in my '79 turbo. The best was at a gas station where the attendant told me I had the coolest looking car he had seen all month. However, I have a 100% snub ratio from other Porsche drivers in the area. Mostly these are 997s 996s and Boxters. I imagine that many of these folks have no clue about their car's air-cooled roots. What really shocked me was when I waved once at a guy in a 964 on I-78 and he looked at me like I was an idiot...I thought we were brothers man, what's up with that?
