Congrats to you and the SC. A true milestone. Now you need to write a nice letter to Porsche expounding the virtues of their cars, how privileged you are to own one and then see if you can get some freebies

Change the oil! You have just completed the break-in miles. I know others say oil can last longer, but always change it earlier when done breaking in the motor. If you were more ****, you'd change it at 100,000 and again at 200,000

Thanks all...but why do I feel like a rebuild is not too far in my future?
Other than a top end reseal job done by the previous owner, this engine has never been split to my knowledge.

My mechanic works on an SC that has over 400K, case has never been cracked, doesn't drip oil, runs like a top, although, when he test drives it following a service, he admittedly will not push it too hard, as he doesn't want to be the one that breaks it. The owner, incidentally DOES drive the car hard.

Great to hear.
I always thought these pre'89 cars are THE strongest Porsches ever built. They aren't even broken in until 50K+ and they improve and last longer if they are driven daily and red-lined often.
Well done.
PS: Arbeitm, how has the targa top fared in 200K miles?!!
