Default 85 Porsche sale question

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2

Guards red, black interior beautiful car

201.9 odo miles currently records since 1999

well maintained by local Porsche shop

has latest vehicle registration & emissions
top end engine rebuild < 8 k miles ago
new clutch < 8 k miles ago
trans rebuild < 13 k miles ago
new fuel pump < 5 k miles ago

starts easily, runs great
small dent LF fender else body very good condition
Momo wheel
excellent stereo/speaker
biggest problem: rust LF near control arm attachment
also small rust spot drivers door frame
interior fair to good condition

The rust would require cutting away the rust and welding in a new piece of metal.
Roughly one foot square piece of metal bent to shape.

While most buyers probably would not be interested because of the rust, I think
somebody could either get a cheap (~$ 7500) car to fix or keep as a parts car.

I'm not getting much response.

Price too high or just too much work for a 201 k mile car?

Thanks for any thoughts

Are you the owner/seller? Why only 201 miles in the last 10 years?...thats the question that would scare me if I was looking at cars. It has been almost a 100% of my experience that a car that has not been driven is because there is something very wrong with it or the owner is affraid of an inpending failure.

That being said....I'll trade you a 3.0 engine for it.

I am not sure about the fog lights (original/after market) .They were on it when I bought it.

I missed the k on the end of 201.9 odo miles. It has 201,900 miles.

I would not be afraid to take a hard look at this car. Mines got 190k and runs like a top. I buzzed an 07 Cayman S at autocross last weekend.

Pretty much any running, complete, reasonably presentable Carrera is going to sell for $7500 fairly easily.

I have to agree with that. But the market is pretty soft right now.

What would disturb me most is that, at close to 200k miles, only the top end was rebuilt. At that mileage, I think it's unthinkable not to do the bottom end as well.

Hi there,

if I could organise reasonable shipping charges to Melbourne/Australia (anybody got connections?) I might be in the market....

Could you upload more pictures to photobucket.com, please?

Best regards

Martin
