could anyone please give some names of independant porsche shops that will do repairs and possible engine rebuilds.
i will not hold anybody responsable.
i have done a search here and also on internet without success.
i am in ft lauderdale general area.

Hello Spikes, You can try Butch Stokes in Pembroke tel: 954 458 0044. I have my 1975 911 Carrera in his shop rebuilding the engine. They are knowledgable porsche mechanics and run a very clean shop. I have researched many places.

Check the 964 forum, they just recently (partially) rebuilt friend of mine's (C4 Guy)engine there.

The last time I passed through Florida, I had occasion to experience Dave White Autosports, 5217 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa. I don't know how far away you are from that area, but they helped me get my drowned 928 back on the road to California. And they were quick and reasonable.
