Default Intake manifold gasket question

I have my intake manifolds off to replace the intake sleeves that have cracked and I can't find any information regarding the gaskets in my bentley- do I need to put any type of fluid or sealant on the intake manifold gaskets before re-installing them?

this is for a 1980 sc

I'm not sure what you're saying, but NEVER EVER re-use gaskets! Your new ones should be installed dry, against perfectly clean surfaces.

bad wording on my part. I have NEW gaskets and will put them on dry after cleaning the surfaces.




And a personal thanks to you Peter- your book saved me from buying a few porsche disasters a couple years ago.
