I am having a hard time advancing my timing to run at TDC or advance. I have moved the wires and distributor both ways but the closest I can get the timing is 10 degrees behind. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Anyone live on the western side of the Puget Sound looking for a fellow Porsche enthusiast to tinker around?

Hello
What wires where moved ?
Now to start:
What is your dwell angle and the gap on the contacts.
Do you have the ignition at TDC or 5° ahead on idle and did you reach 30° mark at 6000/min ?

actually through a little bit of stupidity storm I have corrected the problem. I had to move the distributer shaft a notch to allow me to set the swing of the entire distributor to the center of the adjustment guide. for some reason my brain was not able to comprehend what I was doing wrong when I wrote the post, but thank you for helping out.
