Default 1975- 911S Anniversary Model

Anyone know how rare or desirable a 74 911S Anniversary Model is. What is different from a regular 74 S. What Anniversary is it for??

Thanks as always.

Gord.

OK, so I've learned this"

The same year a special limited-edition Silver Anniversary 'S' appeared. Each wore diamond-silver metallic paint, custom interior trim of woven silver-and-black tweed, and a numbered dash plague with Ferry Porsche's signature. Only 1500 were built.
"

This car must be a 75, I'll check out the SN tonight. What is this car worth, in very good condition??

Not even close to enough info to even make a wild guess at value. I, for one, am a fan of the 2.7 liter cars, but many people are not. You are looking at a car with a tiny following of P-car enthusiasts, and it's engine is far easier to make worse during repairs or a rebuild than it is to "fix" it. The '75 911S had just about every problem that any 911 ever had, and the "Silver" car really doesn't carry value like the '75 Carrera (another model loaded with problems) does. For this car to bring a big price (over $15K) it would have to be complete with a fully documented and accurate history. Obviously the possibility exists that this car will sell to someone based on emotion alone, but it's the last year 911 that can/will rust, it's the second to the last year of very poor valve guides, if it's been driven aggressively immediately following cold starts it could have cylinder head studs pulling from the engine case, and it might have high wear to the engine's intermediate shaft. Those are a few of the '75 911's major issues, the car needs a very good PPI, followed by aggressive negotiation based on what's discovered. It would also help to know how many miles are on the engine, clutch, trans, chassis, etc...

I have a 75 S just going trough a rebuild but I guess I am lucky since the owner before who has passed unfortunatly had a great track record on this car all the upgrades and maintenace its a 7R case with heat exchangers of of a Carrera H4's Cat delete pipe, turbo valve covers, Cams must be from a Carrera since the P202 doesnt fit etc...
I am rebuilding it because it has been sitting for a while and it showed some oil spots etc... just to be sure that everything is a OK on it. Also as it mentioned before yeah they are the rusty kind so I am replacing a lot of the floor pan front pan etc... but the end of the day it will be a Porsche that is turn key and it is still a Porsche and not a KIA I have other P cars to from almost every decade but it does still amaze is me how well they are engineered I drop the engine on my drive way by my self in 5 hours and I wasnt in to much of a hurry.

I did consider to by the aniversary edition but then you hate to modifie it the way you want to.

They have said about the 356 the same they are not having much of value because of some of the issues but look at it now.

If you take care of all the headaches the engine it self works preety well but its not perfect out of the factory: Air pump, heat reactors, lower valve covers can cause a lot of headaches.
I am lucky since I am in FL and we dont have emmission testing here any more so dont have to keep orig equipment to pass emissions.
A car worth as much some body willing to pay for it again you make money up front if you get a good deal!

The 1975 Silver Anniversary isn't worth a cent more in my opinion. I'm just not a big fan of the 2.7 engines as the 3.0 are comparatively so bullet-proof. I can't see why anyone would choose a 2.7 over a 3.0 or 3.2 particularly as there are other issues with those older cars.

Question

Has anyone ever seen a 1975 Silver Anniversary 911S in RED?

This car is listed for sale about 150 miles from me so not convenient to just go look at it. Seller claims it is all original & not a repaint.
