Thanks to everyone who advised on the project. It went pretty well. The partial engine drop sounds daunting until you actually do it. Took about 3 hours from start to finish with me and father in law working together.

I do have one question....we replaced with hi-torque starter and I bought the heavy duty starter relay kit, but didn't put it in. How necessary is it?

My carrera starts fine without the kit. I do not think you need it.
