1986 Carrera Engine Stopping

I've been having an issue with my 1986 3.2 Carrera engine stopping just like the fuel or ignition has been cut off.
To date:
I have replaced the DME relay.
Taken the DME computer apart to look for a bad solder joint on the transistor that fires the coil.
Replaced the coil.
Replace the fuel filter and ran capacity test.
Fuel pump is directly shorted to ON at the fuse panel to eliminate this half of the DME relay.
No help and engine simply quits and refuses to start. Have spark and it still won't start. When it tries to start, appears to be flooded.
Just last night replaced the Cylinder Head Temperature sensor.
This seems to have done the trick. Not absolutely sure yet but one good run where the engine hot fully hot and engine ran just fine.
Does this seem posible?
