Talking Buying 993

Gents,

Getting ready to buy the 1st P car in the family, a 993 for wife. Likely a targa

3 years ago I had a very successful and enjoyable purchasing experience of a M3, thanks to all the tips, comments and insights from the enthusiast forum. I am in general familar with the learn/ search/Carfax+PPI/test drive/purchase process.

I appreciate all tips you guys can think of, generally in 2 areas:
1, where to look for cars? I know it seems like a stupid question, but I tried eBay, Autotrader, Craigslist with very little luck. Only a few. I tend to prefer private than dealer. I wonder if you guys can shed some light.

2, I am still catching up all the educations on P car, 993 in particular. But if you guys can point me to some links for literature - if targa related its even better.

Thanks so much!

Just a helpful hint, but you might have better luck posting on the 993 board. It seems like there are 993's that come up for sale fairly often over there.

Yeah, you need to post this on the 993 forum. When looking for a p-car, rennlist has classified ads where you can possibly find an enthusiast owned 993. Things to look out for besides wear and tear is the SAI issue. Do a search, you will find a lot on the topic. Don't be afraid of miles either as long as maintenance has been done. Any car in the 80k range should have had the clutch & flywheel replaced too.

Yes, indeed post there

BTW, also do a search in the archives before asking questions that have likely been covered a lot. Whatever you can think of ...search first, then post yer questions. We're a friendly bunch
