Here's a car I found on cars.com with 17" Fuchs replicas. Looks pretty good to me.

These guys have secured the Fuchs trademark and are definitely starting with the modern Porsches. I have seen the photos of the 997s and Caymans with them and I have to say,--they do look good.

The reason they are starting with the newer cars first is market based. There are a lot more 997s and 996s out there than there are 'real' 911s. As such, they are looking at the popularity of custom wheels for the late model cars first, and then will develop the tooling for the older cars.

I sold off a set of 7-8x16s a year ago when I realized that I just can't go back. They look like little dinky wheels next to the massive 997 wheels (8.5-11.5 x 19). I absolutely loved the Fuchs alloys for their simple design, their finish, and their weight and strength.

Sadly, two things are working against the Fuchs of the 80s,--they're aging, and the tire manufacturers have virtually abandoned them in those sizes. (Even a HONDA has 16 inch rims on them today!)

Clearly, you're going to pay more for them from this company, "Fuchs" because of the forging and single piece.

I would be very interested, esp if he can produce the correct offset for a widebody 993 "S".
