My wife tried to close the top with the boot still on. This caused the fuse for the top to blow. It seams as if the top slams down harder since this has happened. I think both motors are running. Is there something that allow the top to come down a little softer that was damaged, etc? If you have any ideas it would be appreciated.

I would take it to a uphosterey guy - someone who has replaced 911 canvas tops and just have him adjust the top for you. The guy will most likely do it for free if you have used his shop in the past. It is a 5 - 10 minute exercise.

Well it may be. I really don't know but the more you run it before checking it out the more likely you are to make it worse. I would have it checked out and not fiddle with the top unless you know what you are doing. The electric top is an expensive item to repair.
