Default Great work from 928leathershop

My new (to me) ’85 Carrera is in good cosmetic condition overall, with the exception of the dash top and the rear parcel shelf where the original leather has shrunk and warped the panels badly. I had become familiar with Robert Budd’s work on recovered dashboards over on the 944 forum and knew that this could be a good source. Well, I found a used core in decent shape and had it sent to Rob and I received the newly re-furbished dash today.

To say it looks superb is an understatement. The quality of the work is exemplary. In addition to the recovering work, Rob first repaired some cracks in the base foam. The item just looks awesome. Rob does his 911 dash with a stitched seam over the instrument area, which I like, but concours purists may not want it that way. Most of the “stock” colors are available in both leather and vinyl. Each material has its advantages and disadvantages I guess. I ended up choosing the black vinyl with tan stitching (there is a multitude of stitching colors available).

The timing of the work was perfect. Rob was able to deliver the dash (and headliner) to me early, since the car currently has the glass out and now is the perfect time to install them.

I am a really happy customer and would strongly recommend Rob’s work.
