Post Oil pressure and tank level gauge pegged

Does anybody have any experience with these gauges pegging when the ignition switch is turned to the "accessary" position? The car is an 87 Carrera. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Not sure what to do about the oil pressure gauge but I just fix the same problem with my oil level gauge on my 84. There are two wires that connect to the side of the oil tank, behind the right rear wheel. Mine had come off. Make sure that the connections are clean and that the wires are attached. You'll know if you connect them backwards because the needle will drop to the bottom. I reconnected mine and the gauge is working fine. It is even pretty close to what the dipstick says.
