Post 911 Cab Help

Hi
I have just purchased a 88 911 Turbo bodied Cab with electric roof.To my disappointment it has two 2 inch square holes in hood lining each side about where the rear side windows would be on a coupe.Anyone have any suggestions ?

Sounds like you need a new top, or you could iron on a clothing patch if your not concerned with how it looks. Take it to an upholstry shop and see what they say.

Sounds like the material got caught in the hinges. There was a car I looked at that had the same problem.

Like Matt said; if you are low on cash, try an upholstery shop and see if they can weave the holes closed. If you have extra money then I'd go for a 993 style top as opposed to the original two piece top.

The fabric of your top is not folding back and being pinched by the pins which will leave holes in the top. As your top is in the process of folding stand on the outside of your car and observe the top going down, you will need to make sure that the bar with straps that runs across the top catches the fold ensuring that it doesn't get pinched when the top is all the way down. Mine is a manual top so it is easy to ensure that the bar folds in the right direction.

Hi Guys
Thanks for you help. I have had a chance to examine the problem over the weekend, and yes it is the hood mechanism catching on the inside lining as it folds down.I will have it repaired and keep an eye on it when I lower the hood in future.
Cheers
