What is your general opinion on the stone guards available for protecting flares. Are they even helpfull on non turbo cars?

I had the black protectors on my SC and they do something, as there are often nicks or scratches on the guards after high speed runs. I didnt like the looks though so I pulled them off. I have thought about getting a clear set though as they will protect the car but not really change the apperance.

Personal taste I think.

On my SC, the flares had few chips from track usage. It was the front, and rear, behind the wheel portion of the fender lips that took the brunt of paint chips/wear.
