Isn't Clive gonna be at LAX sometime soon? He could put it in his suitcase, drop it at Pelican, I could run it up the pass, Pete's just over the hill. Sounds like your home free.
what? 50 pound limit? nevermind

The 915 should take the power from a 3.6. But, if it was on it's way to breaking, it was on it's way, and the extra ponies may have drug it along further. If you're tracking a lot, you may want to look at a transaxle cooler.

So true, but it's all about internal reinforcement. The play, both axial and radial, that develops when the pinion shaft bearing gets loose is deadly, and the problem is magnified as horsepower goes up. No, a little peening and LocTite sleeve retainer isn't enough to hold the bearing race tight in the diff. housing. That was thought to be a satisfactory solution at one point, but the internal stresses of the gearbox were underestimated. When the pinion bearing race starts to turn in the housing a chain reaction begins that eventually leads to the slapping of parts against each other, which leads to their destruction. The outer race for the pinion bearing calls for heating the housing to about 250 degrees F for removal or installation. It is not uncommon, actually it has come to be expected, to have that race be removable, during repairs, with light fingertip pressure. In some cases the race will actually fall out as the shafts are removed, which requires a much closer inspection of the parts mounted on the pinion shaft. The picture belows shows a repaired/reinforced pinion shaft bearing location with the custom shim and the outer race installed.
