Car Ramp as alternative to Bend Pak Lift
Hey I was wondering if getting a car ramp would be an ok alternative to getting a lift. A lift is 1600 USD for a bend pak lift but a car ramp is like 200 dollars. I feel like it would be a good alternative. I know a lift would be much better but 1600 dollars is quite a bit of money when I dont know if I will be moving in a year or two. Shipping can be quite expensive. Let me know what you guys think and if you know of any good ramps.

Ramps are good things. Easy to use, cheap, very safe. However, if you ever want to work on your brakes, suspension, axles, steering...etc. They won't do. A large jack and some axle stands are also effective.

Well, I had a decision to make this past spring. I wanted to add "Euro" GT3 seats to my car, but they cost $1300 each. So, I decided to buy one for the driver AND a Bend-Pak D-6XP scissor lift. Best decision I ever made. The lift is truly amazing. I can work on all four wheels, change fluids, and handle all levels of routine maintenance. I now put all of my cars on it and that has been a blast as well...

I have a set of 4" x12" x 14' left over from my front courtyard build that work great as a temporary ramp. If you look back at Ed's Bend Pak pictures he has a couple of 2" x 12" on either side just to clear the lift.
