Thanks! A reasonable price I suppose...I think I might be paying a premium since these colors are hard to find...blues and greens.

Max miles will be 25k

I'm just looking for original paint and interior...but upgrades are fine...stock would be even better.

BTW, I do own a 930 already so I will be enjoying the summer...all I ask is that people find me leads if they wish and not talk about why I am looking for these specifics. I know what I'm getting into as I already have an aircooled. Thanks for your concern.

What price range?

Max miles?

Original condition - do you mean everything is orignal from the factory (clutch, body seals etc) or stock with common upgrades?

1985RUF, I dont want to be pessimistic or anything but I doubt there is a single granite green metallic carrera 3.2 with only 25K miles. 50K miles possibly but I think youre looking for a car that doesn't exist. I am not sure but I think they stopped granite green in 89, after that they made adventurine green which is very similar. I think granite green ran for all the 3.2 cars (84/85-89)? Someone will know.

Per the book "Original Porsche 911" Granite Green was only offered from 1987 to 89 as a "special order color" along with Lagoon Green Metallic, Expresso Brown Metallic, Diamond Blue Metallic, Silver, Cassis Red Metallic and Venetian Blue Metallic.

It does not have production numbers of the colors, only total units sold in the US as follow:

1987 Coupe 2916 Targa 2232 Vert 2653

1988 Coupe 2066 Targa 1500 Vert 2116

1989 Coupe 1156 Targa 860 Vert 1361

75-80 % of them are probably "standard color" Red, White, Black, Dark Blue, Caramel Beige, Summer Yellow, and Turquoise.

I have not seen a 87-89 Coupe with under 75,000 for less then 25-30 in a long time.

G-50 with 25,000 miles or less in mint original condition will probably set you back about 30-35 K

Have you checked with the local PCA ?

Using the Porsche 911 Red Book (Paternie), Granite Green Metallic (699) was offered as a special order:

H - 1986
J - 1987
L - 1989
N - 1991
P - 1992

You might want to post on the 964 forum as well (Granite Green color code listed as 53 for 964), but I agree with Oshin that you may be tilting at windmills to find one with less than 25-50k. Might look at concours type sites.

Love the color!

Jim:

I noticed you did post on the 964 forum and were thinking blue as a possibility. There is an '87 930 in Prussian Blue with 87k miles and a '86 911 with 63k in Diamond Blue at Victory Motors in Houston. From what I've read here and elsewhere, you have to really be on your toes when buying from them...

Good luck!

JABSEA - Thank you for the leads...I saw those but I'm looking for lower miles.

I just need to be extremely patient...if I cant and cave i will then go for a 996 C4S.

What are you going to do with the car... As you know a 25 year old air cooled car with 25k miles is the worst kind of car to buy from a maintenance point of view... Thats 1k per year... no way the seals, rubber, etc will still be good unless its in a museum... just curious...

FWIW, I think it would be easy to hear Oshin's tone two very different ways, depending on a couple of things, like, (1) if one read the progression of messages as indicating he seems particularly motivated to sell his car, and (2) how familiar one is with Oshin from reading many of his previous posts.

I didn't hear Oshin's tone as being argumentative or pushy -- but once Ruf made his comment, I could see how it might be taken that way.

Whadayagonnado?! Two guys who both like their Porsches in GREEN. Fugeddaboudit!

A hah! He's looking for a mistress!

There's just something about their high maintenance that makes the experience of ... ahhh, _________ (fill in the blank with suitable automotive predicate) all the more satisfying.

:-D
