Thumbs up for Tom Amon from Mobile Works West on the work he did on my 993!
A quick and very positive recommendation for Tom Amon from Mobile Works West and the work he did on my 1995 993 yesterday.
After being ripped off by Stevens Creek Porsche on my 30k service, I called Tom to do the following:
- Sparkplug wires change + Distributor Cap
- All 4 brake pads + rotors
- V belts
He did an amazing job for 60% of Stevens Creek Porsche price.
You can trust the guy which is pretty rare those days. My 993 has never worked better, he definitively knows 911s!
So if you live in the SF Bay Area and need a reliable and honnest Porsche Mechanic who will come to your home, Tom is your guy!

Tom : Mobile Works West
I spoke to Tom by phone yesterday just to say hello, he is the best and has become a good friend. Does great work, no BS at all or wasted motion. Did a complete rebuild on my 75/ 2.7 engine a few years ago and I havent thought about it breaking since.All around great guy to know.
