I have a Yakima roof rack system I bought for hauling race tires to the track. It basically clamps on to the rain gutters and it is a snap to put on and off. They make a bike rack that attaches to this as well.

I found the clamps used on evilbay for cheap and it just uses 1" pipe for the rack itself.

You need to get the right model # to fit these cars and I cannot remember what that was. Just go to the Yakima website and you can find it.
Hope this helps.

Okay I dug up a little more data. The basics you need are called A1 towers. These are the clamps. They do not come with the crossbars so you pay extra for those or use pipe as I did.
You then need the bike rack which is also extra.
Evilbay or Craigslist are you best bets unless your willing to drop 4 to 5 hundred on all the new stuff.
Good luck.

Ditto for my 73 911. I also got the rubber parts that protect the paint. There is one that slips over the wide "tongue" that goes into the rain gutter, and one that clips over the "hook" that hooks around the bottom of the gutter.

I have a Thule rack which does the same thing -- clamps down on the rain gutters. I use it for track wheels/tires.

Jack, your the one I got the idea from. It is sort of a pain but it is cheaper than a truck and trailer.
