Post Will 993 cup wheels/17 inch fit a SC?

I am looking at purchasing a 1983-911SC and I currently have a set of 17x7 and 17x9 Porsche Cup wheels with 55mm offset, will these fit on the SC?The current size of tires is 225/45 on the front and 255/40 on the rear.I would like to transfer these from my 944S to the SC if possible.Any advise is appreciated. Thanks

Since the correct o/s for an 83 911 is +23.3mm for a 7" front and +15mm for a 9" rear. To use +55mm o/s wheels you will need a 31.7mm front spacer and a 40mm rear spacer. There is a little leeway either way but not much.

No; -at least not without big fat heavy spacers. The OE wheels on the SC have much less offset; something like 11mm at one end. The spacers you'd need are the expensive type (not "shims") with their own lugs. My advice (if you were to ask) would be to sell the wheels you have and buy a set with the correct offsets. What wheels does the SC have now? If they're 7 and 8" (or 9") Fuch, you might want to reconsider the downgrade to heavier wheels.
