Post IOU $$

Yowza! - I am happy to say that thanks to Rennlist (particularly the archieves) the problem I reported in my earlier post "Wont Start" has been fixe w/o a single part replaced!

I figure I saved a minimum of $100+ by avoiding the dreaded repair shop ... Im going to send in my $$ to join RL as a bo-ni-fied member ASAP!

As mentioned - the problem was the DME- however- after doing a review of the archives I found a post re: to "re-setting" the DME by turmning the key to the on posit. and holding the accelerator to the floor for about 15 seconds. I tried it and it fixed not only the starting problem but the cold stutterting too.

I cant thank the list enough.
Have a great Sat. nite-

Dan:

I take cash or certified checks.

Seriously, though, if your car has any sort of mileage, I would replace the DME relay anyway. It's only about a $40 part, and is VERY easy to replace. With DME relays, the question isn't "will it fail"; the question is "when will it fail?"

I'd run some Techron through a full tank or two of gas to see if the idling problem clears up. Good luck, and congrats on getting it up and running again.
