Default Idle and running problem

After long winter I took my 1980 SC for first run, but... there seems to be a problem somewhere in CIS.
Car starts immediately but backfires and won't idle almost at all when cold. When warmed up still backfires at idle and dies. Also backfires when stalling.
When throttle is given it runs fine and all the power seems to be there but when running at 2200 rpm jerks a little all the time.

Hope you can understand what I'm trying to explain. Tried the search but could'nt find exactly the same symptoms.

It could be almost anything. Your best bet is to drive it and chances are it will clear up after a tank or two.

How well do you know your way about your engine compartment? Do you know what/where the frequency valve is? Do you know what the engine compartment heater blower is? Do you know how to remove the air filter and its cover?

I took the WUR connection out, and the problem was gone. Now I just need to find out WHAT is wrong there.
It still jerks little at ~2200 rpm but much less than before.

You may get the picture that I know nothing about these cars and so it is, but I'm learning all the time. Please forgive me
