Default Geiger Counter Sound

I think my car is turning on me! And we used to get along so well!

But actually, I've got a sound like a geiger counter or a Mr. Coffee coming from the dashboard of my 79 SC. I'm kinda thinking it's the safety belt light/buzzer as it comes from around there. Haven't gotten into yet, just fishing for more info and or remedy options.

Justin,

Assuming that it makes the noise while moving, it might be worn odometer gears.

Nah, it does it when the key is on whether moving or still. And heck, the odometer hasn't hasn't worked in a while anyway. One of those things I'll get around to one day. I figure I only drive when the weather's decent so I do the oil changes etc. by calender.

Disconnecting it won't cause any problems as far as the multi function of the warning light, will it? Life without it would be improvement.

Does it have a OXS sensor/light on the dash? Maybe it's time to re-set the OXS timer on the odometer? Just a guess.....
