911 value 2006 to 2008
Found a 2006 Kelley Blue Book in the used book store and wanted to see prices now and 2 years ago. 1991 is as far back as the book went. So I spent $2.98 to be able to share this with all of you, and by the way. I spent $3.09 for gas yesterday.
In 2006 Jan. to June----1991 Porsche 911 good/individual seller ---- $17,050
In 2008 current----1991 Porsche 911 good/individual seller ---- $18,400
Current asked price about $20,000.
Based upon listed #s and not a report of actual sales. However, the Kelly Book says your 1991 has gained value by getting 2 years older in a frail economy.

When I bought my 86 from my Dad we tried to figure out a reasonable price using KBB and figured out that the price was way under what other resources listed. I pulled out one of my old excellence mags and see that a 1991 Carrera 2 Coupe in so-so condition is 16786 in '06 and drops to 16014 in '07. Excellent condition is 25550 to 24375. So in this case excellence seems to be lower than KBB unless they have really turned around in '08.

When I was buying, I tried to be analytical. I tracked sales & documented 911 sales with real data from Rennlist,Pelican & eBay sold car data.
Here is the sum of my data from Feb 2003 until May 2005.
As you can see, Excellence was consistently high with their valuations vis a vis the market.

Prices have definatly went up back in 2000 when i first statrd looking for a 930 the average car was about 18k and sc's about 12k. Now you cant find a 930 for under 30k

---imcharthur--- stunning work bro. How long did it take to do the chart including gathering the information. Given the different economic conditions of 2005 vs 2008, bubble and bubble bust, what is your guess(wild guess) for a percent increase or decrease in the chart values. Per chance, you are an engineer??

No to the engineer. Sales. I got seriously obsessed.
Here is the graph data & the Excellence figures at the time.
For the raw data see Sales
As for then vs now? Not much change really. Maybe the average for G50s has moved up a bit. But prices certainly are not declining on decent cars.
