Was this cheap? I like the color. I'm considering an SC or a Carrera for my next car, this one I kind of wish I didn't let get away.

Well, the current bid of 12.5K for a 88 is cheap. HOWEVER, it really depends on the condition, as always a PPI is a must. Judging by the condition of neglect of the rest of the car the engine/tranny was probably neglected and abused as well. The dent in the fender and door will not be exactly cheap to fix as well as the rest of the cosmetic stuff. It could very well be overdue for a top end or it could have already been done.
If it needs a clutch, a top end, and the cosmetic stuff you probably will find yourself above 20K quite quickly.
Hope it helps,

I think that was a little high for that car....unpopular color scheme and no way to know what the true condition was. I would have bought it as a track car if I could have gotten it for $10k or less.

I think that $12.3K is high for that car. The to do list seems pretty long. I suspect you would be pushing $20 easily before you got it straightened out. I purchased a very nice 84 about six months ago for $12.2K that needed nothing. Even with the premium that a G50 brings the price is high.
For $20K you can buy this one http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/609271815.html
and save your self a lot of work unless you are looking for a project.
