Talking VIR!

Just had a great weekend at VIRginia International Raceway in Danville Va! Three days of wonderful weather, great friends and plenty of track time. Friday was instructors only. I drove down Thursday from Balimore in my '87 911 (166K) with a set of 16x9s and 7's stuffed in the car plus all the other odds and ends. During my 3rd run session Friday I noticed a thump when turning in. Thought it might be my CVs. Drove the car over to the wonderful shop of G&W Motorsports (located close to the track). They checked my car out, found that it was slightly loose wheel bearings, pulled and re-packed them, re-torqued my rims and wouldn't charge me a cent. They did this for everyone all weekend! Great folks. And there were people at the track doing the same thing. Like Steve Timmins from the Delaware region who helped all who knocked on his door... and the list could go on. The track? 3.24 miles. I highly recommend it. Smooth and fast. Reminded me of the Glen without the armco.
