Post Where to find rare die-cast models?

Hey guys,

I am looking for a die cast model of a 3.2 Carrera Targa and 962CR. I know Porsche put out that series of Targas, but I was just looking for my own model year. As for the 962CR, I don't even know if anyone ever made one, but I would like one if someone did (it is the closest I will ever come to owning one).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You might try ebay. There's guys that specialize in diecast that sell there.
Good luck

I really like that Targa series from Porsche. I don't think you will find your particular year since all Targas from 78 through 89 are pretty much the same in appearance. If I were you, I would get a set before Minichamps stops producing it. I say that because I have had Minichamps stop the production of something before my mind was made up. Minichamps might have them separate, though I can't confirm. If there is any chance of finding individual units, you may give www.scalecars.com a try. They can get you just about anything produced. As far as the 962, there are a lot to choose from in 1:43 scale. I know that www.autofanatics.com has a bunch. In 1:18 scale, Minichamps is currently producing a 956L that is incredible in realism. While it isn't cheap, it is worth every penny. I know that www.scalecars.com has that one. I have been thinking about picking that one up myself to put next to an Exoto 934, 935 and UT 993GT2 that I have. Those are also amazing. I am hoping that Minichamps will start producing more of the 956 and 962 cars. Keep in mind that Minichamps will make some things for a while and then all the sudden they will stop with no warnings. So if you want something, get it before it is gone. Good luck.

autofanatics is coming out with a series of 1:18
3.2 cars in different configurations, I assume one
will be a Targa. They should be out in Feb. and will be priced about $150. They told me that the
quality will be the same as Exoto.

Thanks Jim, I did not have any luck with anyone else, the only similar targa was a 77 SC.
