Default Valve Adjust Question

I seem to remember a post a while back in which someone suggests using the number of turns of the screw itself as an easy and accurate way to adjust vavles. Seems like you turn it all the way in until there is no gap, open it a quarter turn and then close half of that amount. Anyone remember, or can anyone direct me to the post. Thanks,

I suggest staying with the tried and true feeler gage method. There can potentially be tolerance differences in the various adjustment components that could cause the gap to be incorrect even using exactly the same number of turns at each rocker(assuming you can even get a reliable zero or starting point for each adjuster that is repeatable). Mis-adjusted valves can lead to big $$$$ and these types of adjustments should be as accurate as possible. I suggest not deviating from recommended service procedures. Just my humble opinion.

I, too, recall a thread that laid out the turns ratio somehow. In the end (still) it's just as Marty and Ice stated.

Best,

Thanks for the comments, all. I found the post, and it sounds like it would work if you were really experienced, and have the "touch." Well, I don't, so I'll be sticking to the traditional method, which isn't so hard after you get all the junk out of the way. Thanks again,
