You may get away with $2.5 - 3K but when the heads come off there may well be other 'surprises'. I had my headstuds done here in the UK and it cost £1500 with no other work apart from a throwout bearing for the clutch. I have since been told that it is a good idea to replace part of the clutch operating mechanism inside the clutch bellhousing as it is prone to break.

If you only replace all 12 lower dilivar studs with steel ones and replace all the gaskets as needed, it cost around $300 in parts if you can do the work yourself. If you have to pay someone to do it it will cost alot more, ~ $3,000. I did mine last year. My engine had 107,000 miles on it when I did it.
