Im new to air cooled rear engine Porsche's. bought an '87 carrera recently semi set up for track and AX use. Problem: cant get the car to turn in and locks up front brakes on braking and corner entry. I currently have 23mm torsion bars on the front. thinking of trying stock 19mm . Any thought s or recommendations.

Rick,
If I may say so, I think the best idea is to see what you have for the whole package,..![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Front & rear torsion bars MUST be size matched to each other for proper handling otherwise you wind up with a car that has excessive understeer or oversteer. Your current rear bars will help determine what you should use up front. Tire choices also play a big role here,.............![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
IMHO, 23mm front T-bars are too large for AutoX, though.
Q's:
What does the car have for shocks?
What does the car have for swaybars?
Got a front strut tower brace?
Do you what what alignment specs you have now?
Are you using street or DOT race tires?
The answer to all of the above will help you decide what to do.

thanks for your help. Your advice is sound and to that end I willl contact the previous owner (a local porsche club member also) and see what the other settings are for my suspension. that will be my starting point .
