Well................................Uh......................it's the cable that loops around over the heater blower. I guess I should crack open my manual? Sorry if I'm the idiot today, that's why I hang out here. I learn something new everyday. So now what do I do?
Now I would read some more I guess. lol
Thats the CC cable.
don't let that hang up the arm that opens the throttle and sets down on the off throttle switch.
There's a cheap bosch motonic manual, that's a good start.
IN fact, It would be better to read that and the bently than spend three hours on rennlist and pelican
yes thats the idle speed adjustment screw.
are you shooting in the dark? I don't know if I'd mess with that.
I wouldn't tell you what to do, it's your car, But I would learn some stuff before I started in on that.
No reason to adjust the idle without by passing the icv and unplugging the o2 sensor.
First thing I would do is look for air leaks. Everywhere. And clean stuff.
Everything on a carrera is pretty simple, it just takes some reading and a little learning. It's easy after a while.
I think it's obvious I don't tinker with stuff I don't know about. (I know even that is up for questioning) To this point I had no reason to mess with anything around the throtle and haven't done any research on it yet. I think this car has never had anything done to it that it didn't absolutely need. I'll read the book, ask some questions and won't touch anything that I shouldn't. We do know I have a "click"....
Went out this morning to give the car one more chance to fire at first tap. She did it. Over and over fired right up. I let her cool and tried it again...fired right up.
I went over to the darkside (pelican) and read posts about chips and timing and spent an hour reading Steve W., Steve Wong, and Lorenlb fight over timing and chips and figured that I best ask about the advance on this chip. I was assured by Russell that his chip is not even close to 30BTDC let alone 40. He said it's all in the AFR not the timing.
I think I will look into replacing my throtle position switch and fuel filter if the problem returns.
Let me stress again what a fantastic ride this car is now. It is smooth, strong, and predictable. The next mod is going to have to be in updating the rear suspension to handle the new power.
I found something funny tonight while exploring the dark side. there are only two chips sold on Pelican. one is the famous Steve Wong and the other is Russell Berry's MaxHp. Why didn't you tell me this to begin with. This whole Pelican thing is starting to scare me. I really didn't know.
