need an engine
went out today to go for a daily drive and somthing came apart? looks like a rod bearing but who knows I need this car by the 27th of april. bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone have an engine or know where I can get parts its for a 911 S 1974 with carbs. any help is needed thanks jim

My advice?
...scrap the idea of having the car ready by April 27th and throw a new iron in the fire.
Take the engine out...you have to do that anyway...and take it apart!
1) You'll learn a lot about 911 engines
2) It will likely go back together the right way...because you'll do all sorts of research and obtain assistance from all of your Porsche buddies.
This is how I started and to date I LOVE working on them. I blew up my first 911 engine shortly after installing a supercharger setup on it (1982 911SC 3.0L)...so I'm a pro at changing out pistons now!
