Post Wheels

I've found a set of 9x16's ($1k)purportedly its in good shape with original annodized finish. Price seems within market and confirmation would help. I plan on moving my 7's to the front on my 80sc Targa and running the 205's on the front with 245's in the rear. By checking the post's this looks like it should work. But my ultimate question is easy but my lack of experience forces the question. Can I bolt on the 9x16's on the rear or do I need a spacer. Basically I'm trying to clarify the 911sc FAQ section.

I would say that $1K for a pr of 9's in good shape is an OK price. Not a steal, but he's not getting rich off of you either.
Wheel Enhancement in L.A. charges approx $750 EACH for 9's, but they are supposedly NEW.
I would say $1K for a SET of 7's and 9's would be a very good price. I paid under $1K for a set of newly finished (polished lips/black painted centers) 7's and 8's. The 8's by-the-way were just as hard to come by, (and same price at W.E.) at least when i was in the market a year ago.

The 9's will bolt up w/out spacers. In fact, spacers are needed (and used by factory) when mounted on Turbo (wide) bodied cars.

The 9x16's will bolt right on without the need for any spacers (any of the Fuchs discussed in the 911SC FAQ will bolt on without spacers, unless you've installed larger brakes). For price comparison, I paid $700 for a pair of 9x16's I got from a club racer - they weren't concours, but I wanted them for the track, so that was OK (I stripped the yellow paint and repainted them black). Questions to ask on any wheel purchase: Are they straight? Do they hold air well? Cosmetics?

Thanks for the feedback. I should also add the price includes existing Dunlap 8000 245's with approx 80% remaining tread. I'm in ATL so either there isn't as good of a supply of used parts or I'm just not plugged in the market. I had a shot at some 8's for $900 so I figured and extra $100 I'd go for the 9's.

With 225's on 8x16 944 Fuchs, you will get some fender lip rubbing, so you either want to roll the fender lips or cut the lips off, and adding some additional negative camber helps.
