[QUOTE=dsmith;4927041]It's probably not the ICV, since it doesn't have one.

Ah yes...SC, not Carrera.

Too Cool. I got out for a few hours today. It’s like driving a F-16 fighter jet. Motor pulls smooth with the juice coming on over 4k. I don’t think it will make 140 anymore but 90 is not a problem. Hard to shift in traffic after it warms up. I think my next investment will be in new transmission lube.

Batman, the option code sticker is litteraly stuck to the front deck lid. It's on the passenger side close to the front and it's white with a pintype numbering. You really have to contort your head around to find it. and the hard to shift when warm is so the opposite of mine.

I looked under the deck lid. No such luck. I got the 101 projects for your 911. Most of this is way over my head. Where is the horn. Mine does not work & that's a project I can attempt.

I also have an extra switch above the ignition switch. It's to the left of the mirror adjustment.

Best thing you can do to an SC is put on SSI headers/heat exchangers, and an aftermarket exhaust.

That will really wake your car up, but SSIs are not cheap. 911s like yours are very reflective of our emotions. On a good day, driven hard and well, they feel sharp and snazzy. On a bad day, when you are not feeling sharp, they feel clunky and hard to drive, and can make one feel slow and stupid.

There is a learning curve for owning and driving these cars. They come from an era when european cars all had distict personalities, and it was understood that you had to get to know your car. Some people are happier with an 87 plus model, but the people who like early cars like them a lot. As long as you don't have any major engine issues, I don't think you got hosed.

Do get the books, and remember that when you are shifting there is a speed and a rythym that the gearbox likes, and it likes you to move the gearlever to the next gear and offer it up to the syncros. Too slow is a bad as too fast, and jamming is a no no.

Welcome to the club.

Batman..congrats. From a guy who has many Porsches (I think I own #15 ('86 Carerra) and #17 ('89 S4 928) now) I am just learning how to drive this thing. I did the trailer queen q-tip show car thing for years and I don't remember ever having as much fun with auto Xing and tracking as I am now. Learn to drive the car, it's fast. It's not a torque monster it's all about speed management and with that is a huge learning curve. This car will have you questioning your gender on a weekly basis as in screaming outloud "get your foot off the brake and on the gas, Alice". SC's are GREAT cars. Hopefully your love affair is just beginning.
