I have been watching your post for your progress... excellent!! I think that you were very lucky, from looking at the burnt parts, your car could have been fried. Glad you are getting it sorted out.

I found a neat little gadget you can put on the underside of your hood. :-)

Iceman,

Ok,
I pulled the pld pump off - after a 20 minute battle trying to loosen the banjo nut fitting

So I was in the process of hooking up my replacement pump while getting wet wis gass and could not get the intake hose onto the pump

So after getting more gas everywhere I put the old pump on and find out that the intake on the replacement pump is about 1 mm wider and the hose will not fit.

So I look at the part number and it is 0 580 254 947 - dies not match anything Bosch has for Porrsche but I did find a website listing as a pump for the ferrari.

http://www.atpelectronics.co.uk/Catalogue/ferrari.htm

I picked up the pump from a local Pelicanite who was parting out in 83 SC and the pump was only on the car for a few months.

I'm back on the road now

Picked up new fuel pump sealing washers from European Performance for a buck and all is well.

I did not change the pump, I checked the amperage draw and it is in spec, pump runs quiet (never made any noise )and the inlet hose from the tank is still in like new condtion.

Now I need to sign up for AAA...

Thank you Iceman, I was getting tired of smelling like gas the last couple of days.

It's only in the 40's down here with heavy cloud cover, but much better then below 32 F.
