neri: I have no idea why, but it was 85 degrees on my shaded back patio this afternoon. In one way it's really nice, on the other hand it worries the heck out of me because we never know what to expect regarding summer temps here (in '04 it was over 100 F every day for 5 straight months!). It's way to soon in the year for 85 degrees!

douglas: I will keep notes through the whole project (my video card will be here in about a week), and when we have some level of results I'll post what I've done. My notebook is a Dell Inspiron E1505, so far it's been great, knock on wood, except for one battery problem, which had to be replaced under warranty...

neri, get out the checker'd flag....we have a winter.

That was a great video, thank you for playing.

Now if we could get Pete to record a step-by-step video of how to rebuild the entire 911. Cut it into chapters like the engine on one five minute clip. then the ventalation, A/C, and heat system would take an hour long clip. Then moving on to the 915 and G-50 trans would take a minute or two...

Of course if we farmed out areas of the car like the undercarage to the Ausies like JV we would have to turn our computers upside down to watch the video.

Man it was hot today. silk shirt and top down. I got from Ontario to Lake forest and back to Rancho Cucamonga in one hour twenty two minutes.....$10.00 on the tole roads.

In car video....

Buy a Sony mini DV video camera which is less than $300 from Best Buy. Sony seems to have the best image stabilization - which is important.

Buy a Harness bar - your choice $200 - $400 and camera mount -$100.

Or more cheaply buy a suction cup windshield mount - $100 - $150.

Mini DV cameras have IEEE 1394 (Firewire) ports that plug straight in to most laptops.

Record your videos. Use Windows Movie Maker to capture the video from the camera and make mpg movies. You can overlay music or titles easily.

Upload to You-Tube to share.

Here's one of my movies. I have a harness bar in my 964 Targa with a camera mount. Hope to have some movies from my new SC soon!

hey doug, she was trying to say "porsche geek" with a little danish accent. the poor woman has photographed more air coolers and been dragged out to so many porsche gatherings she's lost count.
think she'll be happy for the nice comments by the way.

pete with that 8mm stuff above its a bit technical and confusing for me too but i'd love to shoot porsches now with a super8mm camera and transfer it for that retro 60s feel. so i'm curious to find out if you succeed (and to see what you have on 8mm ).

Don't get your hopes up too far, I don't have a lot of stuff, but I'm sure that I'll find some footage that you'll enjoy!

Steve,

Great Led Zep pick for the backround music

Here is an in car video of my car when it was owned and driven by C Stylianos.

You might need to right click-download since it's a large file.

That was great. The car sounded almost as good as her smile.

Thanks, John.

Yeah, Zep is my favorite.

Cool video. What track is that? Looks like point bys were getting tough to get there at the end.

Steve,

I do not know what track it was but is probably in the MD/VA area.
