Restore faded rubber seal
The rubber seal that seals the gap between the windows (trailing edge), and back of the targa top with the ...targa roll bar...thingy...whatever. You know the one I mean? It has a fabric cover that is faded, which I thought to replace, but then, heck, it's not really worn out.
Is it possible to dye it/colour it? Is there a product for this? Otherwise, I'll improvise. Were it my daily driver, I'd just experiment (liquid shoe polish?), but, if none other, I'd rather take careful care of this one car. ;-)
Thanks in advance.

"FOREVER BLACK" is what you are looking for at www.automotion.com I was there yesterday and almost picked up the kit and didn't. It is good for bumpers, trim, seals, etc. Do a search on that site and you will find it. (performance products) Every used car dealer on the planet uses it daily.

Here is a quote form the Pelican Tech forum
"for the cloth covered side of the Targa there is another product that will do the trick. Do not use any of these on the cloth, it will not look good. Go to a Crafts shop and get a charcoal gray or black fabric paint. I know this sounds crazy, but another Concours person gave me this tip years ago and it works. Mix the fabric paint rather thin and dab it on with a sponge. As with anything, first do a test in a less visible area. The fabric paint work s great! Don’t get the metallic black fabric paint though, unless you need a little sparkle in your life. "

I don't know how the Targa window seals, but it sounds like it's the same type of seal as the Cabriolet in which case I have the exact same issue. Is the seal that I have circled in the image below (you can see it through the window) the one we are all talking about?

I just priced these pieces and they are $175.00 each from Pelican parts. $350.00 seems like a lot of money for this seemingly simple part. My window does not even make contact with my current seal anymore, but I am not sure if a new one is that much thicker.
Any cabrio guys with the same issue?

I think they are $135 ea at performance. I wanted to change mine till this weekend when the car saw rain for the first time and didn't leak a drop. I'll check the price...

Douglas, do you know how these things fit on. I can't see a screw. one end of my drivers side is peeling a bit and It looks like it is installed with some kind of adhesive.

What is that perfomance place you are talking about. I tried automotion and could not find the seals?
...Just got back inside and am happy to say I found my nuts!
