Post Shop Manuals on CD

I received an e-mail from Nuttyporchessor@hotmail.com offering factory shop manuals on CD for a very reasonable price ($29 for the 1972-1983 911). Has anyone dealt with this guy? Is he legit?

Thanks

Bryan,

You should know that Porsche has not published any factory manuals on CD. They are available in print and on microfiche only. Some people have scanned the pages and created CD's. There's also at least one other company that offers their own Porsche repair manual on CD.

My recommendation would be to spend the around $75 (list $119) on the Bentley 911SC Service Manual. It's well written with lots of pictures and procedures. (Full disclosure note: I provided input to the current edition). Personally, I like to be able to look at a book, scratch my head, carry the book to the car, reread pages and then look over whatever I'm working on. Can't do that easily with a CD, for me at least.
