Default Widest rears for pre SC?

My '77 narrow body would look better with some tires that fill the width of the car better.

Has anyone experimented and found the perfect offset and treadwidth for pre-SC bodies? I once bought 7 x 15 Fuchs that rubbed with 205 60s. Sold those and put 6 x 16s all around with little 40 series tires.

Hi Chris,
Back when my 75 911S was narrow body, the best I could do was run the 7x15 911R wheels in back with 215/55-15 tires and 205/60-15 in front on 6x15s. Then, I found the fuchs 7x16 that were only run on the 1986 944 turbo-these have a different offset than the std 16" fuchs found on 911s. I put 7x16s all the way around with 205s on the front and 225s on the back-though i did have to roll the rear fender lips. I used these for track wheels/tires and the 15s as street wheels. The 911R wheels are VERY expensive, like $1500 each or more!!

Nick
