Touch up paint primer?

Touch up paint primer?
Whoops!
Today, I washed my 911 for the upteenth time, but today I decided to use a hose-end sprayer to get some love bugs off the front fender and under the rear passenger quarter panel - got rid of the bugs and removed the touch paint that the previous owner had applied (and won a concours competition with the car).
I need some advice as to where to get touch paint - guards red for a 1987 911 carerra (hopefully the guards red from 15 years ago has not changed).
2. Once I get the paint, what is the best way to apply it? do I prime the surface? How long does it take to dry? When can I wash, wax and buff, again?
Thanks. I am such a stupid!
P.S. Iam in the market for a new wax - I hear/read Malms is the best...any other suggestions?
Thanks again.

You can purchase your guards red touch up paint through any Porsche dealer.
For detailed instructions on just how to repair those chips/scratches, go to carcareonline.com and print the article on repairing paint chips.

You might consider having your touch up paint color matched... Like you said, if the paint has faded at all you will notice a difference.
It might even end up being cheaper than the dealer paint! Here,m you can have it done at a paint shop : 20$ CDN for a big can of aerosol (!) color matched paint! The touch up brush type is something like 10$... I'm sure you'll find something similar, just call around; they'll just ask you to bring in a side-view mirror or gas cover.
Good luck!

Try <a href="http://www.paintscratch.com." target="_blank">http://www.paintscratch.com.</a> You should see if you can find your paint code first. I don't know where it is on an 87. On my 85 it's on the inside of the front hood, but on some Porsches it's on the drivers front door post, sometimes in other places. If you can't find it, the paintscratch site has a diagram of possible locations for the paint code by manufacturer. Don't be surprised if your code does not match the master list on the website. Mine is LO27 for Guards Red, which is not listed. They can probably still matach it even if it is not listed.
