So, my 84 already has said inline fuses? Funny thing guys, the slider started working last night without me doing much, though I'm still less than impressed with the heat flow. I compressed the driver's side cable slider at the blower, then released it back to where it was before (and obviously removed the boot carpet out of the way). I'll get another pair of hands to work the levers tonight & observe what's going on in the boot.
As for the "blowers don't work unless it's hot", yeah that's not accurate on mine... blowers start as soon as I turn the **** on the floor.

ya I don't know about the sensor thing, but
I think for sure the inline fuses on footwell blowers were put in early 87 late 86. I've seen 86's with no fuses.
definite fire hazard without them, likewise the front condenser blower motor in the trunk for the AC.
mysterytrain, Ron, is rarely wrong though. he's helped me out with electrical stuff before.
he's very good with heat and AC.
