Default 1976 euro carrera 3.0

I have a 76, euro 3.0, never rebuilt. What material is the block and head studs? What make are the cylindars The engine has 90,000 miles, one pulled stud, one broken. The engine still has the 5 bladed fan.

The engine case is aluminum, the head stud are early Dilavars, the pistons and cylinders should be Mahle.

Get rid of that 5-bladed fan, install the late 993TT Dilavars and you will be set.

FWIW, those cases do not pull studs unless engine temps reach 300 deg F.

Good info from Steve, but i'll just add that, besides the fan update(I like the '84 up Carera fan because it has additional cooling holes for the alternator) I found that a better oil cooler was a necessity(again the 3.2 Carrera radiator type is great)
