Sunvisor loose on '84 911 Targa
Is there a method to tighten the visor so it stays up? The actual sunvisor is in good shape. It is the metal "pins" that are loose. Thanks for any help

I have pulled apart the ones on my Cab (similar to Targa IIRC). Re-seating the pins in the plastic mounts helps, along with tightening the screw. The diameter of the pin would help a little if enlarged, but doing something like tape on the pin would get bound up / stripped off when trying to re-insert into the visor itself.
If the plastic is cracked, the pin may be rotating in the plastic, not that it's not tight enough inside the visor. If so, try re-seating the pin, or epoxying to hold it firm in the plastic clip.
They are available new from Pelican Parts, etc., but are very pricey at around $70-80 each side, from memory. The left side of my passenger's visor is what let go on mine. I got it tight enogugh after reseating to stay up most of the time up to about 90mph or so, after that it'll come down a bit with the wind.
Good luck.
