Post a water cooled mutinist

Im looking for a car with a little more power than my 924 and i was thinking about a 911, what do youall think i could get with about $10k, i dont mind doing some mechanical or cosmetic work. Also i wanted to know what years i need to stay away from?
Thanks

Garnett,

You might look at the archives, as this topic has been discussed several times here. For $10K, you're probably looking at a 911SC or earlier 911. The 2.7L engines had their share of problems, but if they have been repaired, they can be good 911's. There's an Early 911 FAQ and 911SC FAQ on the tech.rennlist.com website that may help with additional information.

944S or 944Turbo, will get you much more power, even more power to outrun a stock 911 SC.

If I read the post correctly, GT wants a 911, not a 944.

A earlier SC would be a fine choice within your budget, especially if you can find one that has been fully sorted out by the PO.
